CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Central Luzon police director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON on Thursday called on the public to refrain from using illegal firecrackers during the holiday revelry as continuous inspection by authorities in all firecracker stores and warehouses regionwide is being conducted.
PBGEN DELEON is also inspecting police provincial and city offices to assessed their preparedness and initiatives in curbing cases of indiscriminate firing and firecracker-related injuries wherein the province of Pampanga has one recorded case of illegal discharge of firearm while Nueva Ecija has one reported victim of stray bullet.
The public was advised against purchasing and using illegal firecrackers, such as Watusi, Piccolo, Poppop, Five Star, Pla-Pla, Lolo Thunder, Giant Bawang, Giant Whistle Bomb, Atomic Bomb, Atomic Triangle, Large-sized Judas Belt, Goodbye Delima, Hello Columbia, Goodbye Napoles, Super Yolanda, Mother Rockets,Kwiton, Super Lolo, Goodbye Bading, Goodbye Philippines, Bin Laden, Coke-in-can, Pillbox,
Boga, Kabasi and other similar firecrackers.
On the other hand, the sale and use of consumer pyrotechnics or commonly referred to as pailaw may still be allowed such as Fountain, Jumbo Regular and Special Luces, Butterfly,Mabuhay, Roman Candle, Sparklers, Trompillo and Whistle Device.
“We once again appeal to the public to refrain from using illegal firecrackers to avoid any injuries. Instead of firecrackers, we could all enjoy the Holidays with other forms of merriment,” PBGEN DE LEON added.(RPIO-3)
