CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL led the Central Luzon police cops in the observance of the 121st   National Flag Day earlier this morning, May 28.

A simple flag raising ceremony was held at the PRO3 Parade Ground, Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga and was attended by the PRO3 Command group, staff and all PRO3 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel. 

“Whenever our flag is raised, we are reminded of our unity in the great cause of liberty and justice for all. Sa pagitan nitong araw hanggang sa Araw ng ating Kalayaan sa Hunyo 12 ay ating iwawagayway ang ating watawat at tayo, bilang mga naatasang mangalaga at protektahan ang ating kalayaan, ay patuloy na gagampanan ang tungkuling ito sa pamamagitan ng tapat na pagseserbisyo at paglilingkod ng buong puso,” PBGEN CORONEL said in his message. 

The National Flag Day commemorates the day when the Philippine flag was first raised after the victory in the Battle of Alapan in 1898, wherein Filipino revolutionaries led by General Emilio Aguinaldo defeated Spanish troops to recapture the province of Cavite. It was further extended with Executive Order 173, signed by former President Fidel Ramos, which set the observance from May 28 to June 12.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Two (2) drug suspects were arrested and numerous sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated during anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by police authorities in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on Tuesday.

Joint operatives of Pampanga Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 3 and Mabalacat City Police Station led by PCPT MARK ANJO UBAUB conducted buy-bust operation in Ilang-Ilang St., Roxas, Brgy. Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga which resulted in the arrest of Norman CALAGUAS y Lapira, jobless, resident of Malabanias, Angeles City and Jennifer SORIANO y Baltazar, jobless, resident of Roxas St. Brgy. Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Confiscated from the duo’s possession were thirteen (13) medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 39.961 grams, cellphone, cash amounting to Php1,100.00 in different denominations, one (1) red Toyota Vios, 2017 model, bearing virtual plate no. VO1895 and Php1,000.00 marked money.

Charges for Violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 were filed against the suspects docketed under NPS Docket No. III-20-INQ-19E-00351-00352 before Prosecutor Nancy B Fajardo-Langit.

“Continuous operations against all forms of illegal drugs in the region are being carried out and we will not stop until we achieve our quest of a drug-free Central Luzon,” PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL stated.

CAMP OLIVAS, CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA- Police Regional Office 3 Director PBGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL said that the conduct of the 2019 National and Local Elections here in the region is generally peaceful considering that only three (3) election related incidents validated by PRO3 and COMELEC have been recorded since the start of the election period last January 13 and merely incidents of liquor ban, vote buying and vote selling were recorded.

Relatedly, eight (8) persons were arrested for Vote Buying and Selling in Tarlac and Pampanga while a flying voter was apprehended also in Pampanga. A total of 68 individuals were arrested for violation of the 48-hour liquor ban.

As a result of the stern implementation of Gun Ban which took effect at the start of the election period on January 13 and will end on June 12, 2019, a total of 776 assorted firearms and 5, 039 deadly weapons were already confiscated with the arrest of 564 suspects.

Meanwhile police authorities continue to secure the Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) until all are being transported back to their provincial hubs.

PBGEN CORONEL said that, “the success of the National and Local Elections here in Central Luzon is the result of the concerted efforts of the COMELEC, PNP and AFP thru the Regional Joint Security Coordinating Council and other partner agencies who worked hand in hand to ensure the safety and security as well as guarantee the smooth flow of this national exercise.”

“I wish to commend the men and women of Police Regional Office 3 and our AFP counterparts for their exemplary performance of election duties and also the support of our media practitioners as well as the general public which paved the way for the attainment of our goal for a safe, clear and credible 2019,” he further added.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando,Pampanga-  The Central Luzon cops join in the annual Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education from May 20-25, 2019  with this year’s theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan.”

PNP personnel from the different police units region wide armed themselves with brooms and other cleaning tools to help clean-up classrooms and even do repairs of dilapidated chairs of public elementary and secondary schools within their respective areas of responsibility

“As part of our social responsibility, your police are also mobilized to do repairs, maintenance work and clean-up of public schools in the region thru the yearly conduct of Brigada Eskwela,“ PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL said.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Through the activation of PRO3 Task Force Kontra Bigay (Vote Buying) to address suspected vote buying incidents in the region,  eight (8) persons were arrested for Vote Buying and Selling in Tarlac and Pampanga, yesterday (May 12).

Authorities were able to arrest 7 persons in Pampanga while 1 person was arrested in Tarlac.

Relatedly, 54 individuals were arrested for violation of the 48-hour liquor ban which took effect midnight of May 12 until 11:59 PM, today (May 13).

Due to stern implementation of “Oplan Baklas” regionwide, a total of 37,436 illegal campaign posters, most of which were oversized and were posted in prohibited areas, like electric lines and trees were removed during the previous clearing operations conducted by COMELEC, PNP and other partner agencies within the region.

As of press time, based on reports from the PRO3 Regional Election Monitoring Action Center, 99.99% polling precincts in Central Luzon are now open for casting of votes while 2 polling precincts in Balagtas and Marilao, Bulacan are conducting reconfiguration of their Vote Counting Machines (VCMs).

“We continue to enforce our tight security measures particularly on all polling centers to ensure every one of a safe and credible electoral process. We are on the guard until all ballot boxes are secured and have been transported to all canvassing areas,” PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN JOEL NAPOLEON M CORONEL said.
