 Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- The top cop of Central Luzon still has his hands full as he continues to attend engagements and meetings with key officials of the different partner agencies of Police Regional Office 3.

“My intention is to go around Central Luzon so the people here would feel us from the regional headquarters, and that we are one with them and we support them,” PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON said.

On Friday, after attending the launching of the Barangay Covid (BACOD) Defense and PNP Safe Exchange Zone in San Simon, Pampanga with The Deputy Chief PNP for Operations, PLTGEN CESAR HAWTHORNE BINAG as the Guest of Honor and DILG USEC for Barangay Affairs, Martin Diño, afterwhich, proceeded at the field office of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Northern Luzon in Clarkfield, Pampanga where they met with DIPO-NL Director PBGEN FERDINAND DAWAY.

PBGEN DE LEON also paid courtesy calls to Mabalacat Mayor Cris Garbo and Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan then headed back to Camp Olivas to administer the oath taking of a newly hired patrolman.

PBGEN DE LEON added that as the new regional director, he would also take advantage of the opportunity to meet the different stakeholders and forge stronger partnerships and linkages.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON said that Central Luzon cops are now improving their shooting capabilities thru marksmanship tests and trainings.

This move is in line with one of the 9-point agenda of C, PNP PGEN CAMILO CASCOLAN which is to enhance the policemen’s shooting skills in order to fulfill its mandate of serving and protecting the public. PBGEN DE LEON also said that PGEN CASCOLAN wants police officers especially those doing field work to be more responsible and proficient in using firearms as it has been noted that the primordial duty of the police is to protect lives and properties.

"Precision and Accuracy are not constant abilities. We can never stay sharp and quick if we stop honing our skills. As members of the PNP, we are duty- bound to serve and protect the people, we need to be sharp and precise all the time," PBGEN DE LEON remarked to the cops during the Marksmanship Exercises at Camp Olivas on Friday.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON directed all provincial/city directors to work closely with their local disaster risk reduction management councils (DRRMCs) as super typhoon "Rolly" hits landfall on Sunday ( November 1).

PBGEN DE LEON said that the entire Central Luzon police is on full alert and all guidelines under the PNP Critical Incident Management Operational Procedures ( CIMOP) are strictly being observed which includes equipment and related capabilities for disaster response and assistance.

The top cop also said that PRO3 will continue enforcing IATF guidelines in coordination with the local government units and other law enforcement agencies to protect the public from the Covid-19 pandemic and typhoon Rolly.

All deployed personnel for response operations to typhoon Rolly continues to observe the minimum health standards such as wearing of protective gears, use of alcohol and sanitizers and other measures.

" I also call out to our public especially those who are living in low-lying areas to cooperate and heed the disaster preparedness plan of the local government units (LGUs), particularly in evacuating to safer places to ensure their safety during the onslaught of typhoon Rolly,"PBGEN DE LEON added.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- Seventy (70) barangays in the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga are still flooded with rain waters while nine (9) main roads in the provinces of Aurora and Pampanga are still impassable to vehicles as of today, November 3.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON bared that following roads in Aurora are still impassable to vehicles namely: Brgy. Diteki Detour Road; Villa-Bongabon Road and Ditubo River going to Brgy. Diagyan, Dilasag Aurora while in Pampanga, these roads are also impassable: Kalsadang Bayu in Masantol; Caduang Tete in Macabebe; Candaba-Baliuag Road; Candaba-San Miguel Road; Brgy Sta Cruz Road in San Simon and Poblacion Bridge in Mexico.

As of press time, 565 families composed of 1,994 individuals are still sheltered at the 823 evacuation centers regionwide while almost 700 personnel are still deployed for response operations.

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga - Marksmen and firing enthusiasts who were not able to see action for a long time due to the pandemic were given the chance to showcase their practical shooting skills in the 1st Invitational Media Fun Shoot and Police Regional Office 3 Marksmanship Test held on October 30, 2020.

The half- day fun shoot set at the Camp Capt Julian Olivas Firing Range started at 8 a.m was free of charge and was open to all media practitioners and stakeholders of Metro Manila and Central Luzon as well as NCRPO and PRO3 personnel.

No less than USEC JOEL EGCO of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security and

PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON joined in the fun shoot.

Around 250 members of the press and uniformed personnel also participated in said event.

"We are here today to compete with our own selves, not to display our firearms and hold the expectators in awe but because we want to make our relationship stronger and better with one another. Best of all, we are here today because we are all responsible gun owners who love the shooting sport, " PBGEN DE LEON said during the activity.
