Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga –Nearly 43,000 individuals were arrested, including 546 of the most wanted in the region, and various firearms, deadly weapons and illegal drugs were confiscated in over eight (8) months of unyielding police operations in prime cities and municipalities across Central Luzon, said Region 3 Police Director, PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON.
The Regional Director said that these strings of operations are in adherence to the marching order of PGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR, C,PNP to intensify, to reinvigorate and to focus on the anti-criminality drive and anti-insurgency efforts of the PNP thru the Intensified Cleanliness Policy (ICP).
PBGEN DE LEON also said that upon his assumption in October of last year, he ordered all provincial directors and chiefs-of-police to conduct intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) as part of the crime mitigation efforts of the PNP to deprive criminals with the opportunity to commit crimes. Further, he has issued a warning to all criminals that the full arm of the law will be used against them should they still prefer to continue disrupting peace and order in the region.
PBGEN DE LEON stated that PNP units in Region 3 have continuously carried out actual and proactive crime prevention drive by accounting all wanted persons, clear the streets of drug personalities and take weapons and other instruments of violence from the hands of criminals before they can use them.
The top cop of Central Luzon bared that from October 7 to June 15, 2021, authorities have arrested a total of 42,694 individuals, 5,785 of them have standing warrant of arrests for various crimes, 7,601 were arrested for illegal drugs, 7,161 were apprehended for illegal gambling, 91 were arrested for illegal logging, 141 for illegal fishing, 112 for Carnapping and 21,257 were given citation tickets for violation of local ordinances.
PBGEN DE LEON added that for the same period, Central Luzon cops have confiscated a total of 584 assorted firearms, 19.43 kilograms of Shabu with DDB value of Php 132,097,241.73, 588.25 kilograms of Marijuana amounting to Php 70,590,032.43 and Php 2,435,674.00 cash bets.
PBGEN DE LEON further stated that these accomplishments particularly in the arrest of most wanted fugitives, people involved in illegal drugs and street crimes were the results of the strong support of all local chief executives in the anti-criminality programs of the PNP-PRO3. He also appeals for the public’s full support and cooperation.
