Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga—A former CTG-BHB member operating in Zambales voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Wednesday, May 12.
Based on the report of PCOL JERIC VILLANUEVA, Acting CD, Olongapo CPO, joint elements of CIU-OCPO, City Mobile Force Company-OCPO, City Operation Management Unit-OCPO, Provincial Intelligence Team, Zambales-Regional Intelligence Unit 3(Pit-Zam-RIU3), Provincial Intelligence Unit-Zambales Police Provincial Office, 25th Special Action Company-2nd Battalion-PNP-SAF, 70 Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army (70 IB, PA) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, City Field Unit 3, Olongapo City (CIDG-DFU3) processed the documentation of voluntary surrender of “Ka Jordan”, former member of Criminal Terrorist Group (CTG) under Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB).
Said surrenderer narrated the hardship and poverty he experienced while inside the movement.
PRO3 Regional Director PBGEN VALERIANO T DE LEON said that “continuous fight against insurgency thru programs and educational activities that will counter the ideologies being taught by these CTGs are being carried out in line with the directives of PNP Chief PGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR."
"The government has prepared a program for rebel returnees such as the Comprehensive Local Initiative Program wherein our brothers and sisters who are former members of the NPA will receive cash and livelihood assistance, housing, employment assistance, among others," PBGEN DE LEON added.( PIO-3)
